Expectations of a generation crushed me to death” – Ryan Cox

Nirvana – A Circus Mind

The opening stanza from Nirvana is represented in the Buddhist translation of the word and the result of Kurt Cobain’s success as a member of Nirvana. In the Buddhist tradition the word Nirvana refers to knowing or consciousness. The word literally means blowing out or to extinguish and for Buddhists means to blow out the fires of greed, hatred, and delusion or the highest happiness.

From the many books and articles written about Kurt Cobain, for better or worse, he was called and is remembered as the voice of a generation. In the minds of many, it was the labels bestowed upon him as well as the expectations that ultimately led to his demise.
